Ek Naye League

Ek Naye League” certainly makes one wonder what it must be. Surely something in a league of its own……something really out of the ordinary since the iconic Mr.Kapli Dev is promoting it. So far we have seen so many leagues- the Indian Premier League, the various football leagues and so on….all where we have been spectators, participating with our hearts. Be it for our country, be it for our state. Every time our favored team wins or loses we take it as a personal triumph or a very over- the- top tragedy… so much so that we don’t even spare the poor sportsperson’s girlfriend and go for her jugular if the going is rough!

Now Mr. Kapil Dev has really stirred the imagination…..if all those great sports persons who play with their hearts will stand to lose in this “Naye League “then perhaps  the time has come for all players and maybe spectators too, to grow up beyond  childish emotional tantrums. Maybe, in keeping with India’s makeover in the eyes of the world, our heads will have to rule over our hearts. Grey matter will be on display, leaving no room for sentiments and leaving the heart out completely.

Actually this seems to be just right time for a league to be launched where the contribution is only with  grey matter! This seems to be just what the Doctor ordered…. enough of theatrics, enough of drama. Now is the time for the game to be played with the mind. Just imagine how high the stakes would be if the heart is left out and the game id played by wits and the power of the mind alone. It should be a spectacle worth watching.

What a superb idea!  Now every win or loss will the participants’ very own as decided by their head not heart. Of course a lot of training of the brain too would be required to come out tops in this new league. It will maybe be a big change from the loud histrionics involved in all the sports currently played (especially cricket) which is almost a religion in our country.
The impact of this “not to be played from the heart” new league will be worth watching-will we become less emotional and more “thinking” about our sports? Will this new league garner the same massive following and become a religion like cricket? Will someday parents again start pushing their children towards academia so as to become part of ITL junior?

The future seems really exciting. Something new is always exciting. The question remains however of what kind of intellectual training would be required for this new kind of league? What would be the returns from it? Would it also have a place for betting? If so, again the heart element will come in for gambling is also about gut feeling, intuition and the heart. In this game, the head and brain will have the lead so it will surely set a good precedentand bring about a sea-change in the “league” world. All the best to Mr. Kapil Dev for taking the lead in the “Ek Nayi League”.

An Inside Peek Into the Indiblogger Meet( Gurgaon the 23rd April 2015)

Nautanki Mahal
What can you say about a Smartphone that has it all…perhaps even, beyond all? The launch of the Zenfone2 at Gurgaon on the 23rd May was a big hit! Thanks to Indiblogger and ASUS, most Indibloggers from Delhi and some from as far as Pune and Mumbai had a fantastic time at the launch held at Nautanki  Mahal Gurgaon.

Starting with the delightful introduction by Mr. Jerry  Shen CEO ASUS, and  his heart-touching “Dhanyavads”, on to Mr. Eric Shen Corporate Vice President and Mr. Peter Chang Regional Head ASUS India, we got an in-depth knowledge of the latest  launch from ASUS… the Zenfone2.The icing on the cake however was Robert Jahns, the well-known digital artist and Instagram master who regaled us with the umpteen possibilities of using the Zenfone2 Pixel Master camera.  It was clear that ASUS has managed to bring the incredible to Incredible India. The user friendly features and its extreme technological excellence makes it  a perfect blend of Yin and Yang…..technological finesse and beauty…. be it because of its sleek looks, amazing color palette, ranging from red  to turquoise as well as the ombre range…simply mind-blowing!

Saif Ali Khan
The launch was by Saif Ali Khan. He rose on to the stage on a circular platform surrounded by a bevy of gown- clad beauties in true Nawabi style, to launch this stupendous phone. Famed Bollywood photographer Daboo Ratnani too dropped some pearls about the photographing abilities of the phone.

The foot-tapping numbers by Aditi Singh Sharma of the “Suraj dooba hai yaron” and “Dhoom 3’ fame, against a backdrop of astounding visuals was completely mesmerizing.

Indiblogger Group Selfie
There was palpable excitement in the air; the energy of the young Indibloggers was evident and heightened by the vivacious anchor Anushka Dandekar whose invitation to all to come on to the stage for selfies with Saif Ali Khan almost resulted chaos, quite adeptly prevented  by  Anoop.

Two lucky winners got a Zenfone2 each for their prompt answers, leaving the rest regretting why they hadn’t answered. There was almost a catfight between two  Indibloggers on how many times each had met/ interviewed celebrities…quite a sideshow for the audience to look on at, bemusedly !Others were busy trying to trace the Troll in anticipation of the Rs/-5000 - reward. Wonder who won it?

Some were dressed to kill. Others were dressed comfortably for a day’s outing at Gurgaon’s  Nautanki Mahal. Some came with boyfriends (in buses which broke down again and again), still others were daughter bloggers with mama bloggers or Mama Papa and daughter bloggers/tweeters having a rollicking time together; few were observed eating only ice-cream during the lunch at Culture Gully…hats off to their commitment  for attending a full-day event while on fast.

Lots of contacts made and networks widened. There were also face-to-face meetings with many whose blogs had been admired online so far.Everyone had a fabulous time and clutching their ASUS goodie bags full of T-Shirts and Sefie Sticks, left the venue smiling, looking forward to another such meet soon.
