Get happiness with a healthy heart the Saffolalife Way

As clear as 1+2= 3, staying active, plus eating better, equals being happy! There’s no one on this earth who doesn’t want to be happy so I’ll let you in to a few secrets leading to a happily ever after situation in your health life which is guaranteed to have a positive effect on all other aspects of your life.

First things first-in order to have my very own undisturbed early morning precious “me-time”, I strictly eschew my most precious electronic gadget-my treasured iphone for the night! This means no checking-up of messages received immediately on getting up-rather the time gained is used to take a few deep breaths, few stretches to loosen my rested limbs and oodles and oodles of positive thoughts to spur me onto get the most out of another fruitful day, full of opportunities waiting to be explored.

A glass of warm water followed by my favourite cup of sugarless tea gets my juices working in a peaceful environment before the frenzy of the whole waking household starts. Please remember, once out of bed, I am determined to be on my toes and sit down only for my meals. To egg me on to staying active, eating better and being happy, I have found a wonderful friend because:"I am joining the Saffolalife #ChhoteKadam initiative in association with BlogAdda and follow these small steps for a healthy heart.”

Not plonking down at every opportunity (whether while watching television or chopping vegetables or making sandwiches) makes being active a part of your life-scientific studies have been carried out in support of this and recently here was a news item about the redundancy of chairs to go with desks in schools! I’m all for it!

Eating right is a big help in my quest to stay active. Here Saffola plays a big role. Oil-less is no way to go- a little bit of the right oil goes a long way and keeps my heart ticking happily. I believe in vegetarianism and a wholesome diet of ample amounts of fruits and vegetables especially all those in season , five soaked almonds(with the peel on) and two soaked walnut kernels with my breakfast cup of milk give me all natural anti-oxidants, spurring me on to remain active.

When I eat sensibly, I feel energetic throughout the day and look forward to my hour-long walk with music plugged in my ears! I pass many people during my walks who I may not know by name but make it a point to smile at. You know why? My smile is reflected back by them to me and frankly, who doesn’t care for a smile?

My secret to being happy is to not take things too seriously-just as good times don’t last (think of the King of Good Times) bad times are also there temporarily. Worrying about things never makes them better. So I make it a point not to ever give up any chance to shrug off worries and laugh- be it a silly comedy serial on television or even the virus called Pammi Auntie on YouTube, or best of all, to immerse myself in the P.G. Wodehouse’s idyllic world  of  Bertie Wooster. I thank them all for giving me so much laughter and laughter, my friend, should be taken seriously if you want to live happily hereafter!
